Mr & Mrs Broughton – A Beautiful Autumn Wedding at Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa
8th November 2025
There is something incredibly special about autumn weddings in Scotland, and the wedding of Mr & Mrs Broughton on 8th November 2025 at the stunning Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa was the perfect example of why this season is so magical. PS you know I had to google if November was Autumn or Winter... oops.
Set on the beautiful Angus coast, the venue overlooks the world-famous Carnoustie Championship golf course and offers breathtaking views across the North Sea. With elegant event spaces, the BEST wedding planning support (I don't say that lightly, there is no-one quite like Morag) and the ability to host large celebrations, it’s easy to see why this venue is such a popular choice for couples tying the knot in Scotland. You know it was my most visited venue in 2025.
This was an exciting day not only for the couple and their family & friends but also for all the suppliers involved, this wedding was orginally in my diary for December 2024 but unfortunately as we know can happen all too quickly... life had other plans & the groom became unwell. Cancers but was kicked & the wedding planning commenced, leading us to this truly magical day... emotional morning preparations to a packed dance floor in the evening. Mr & Mrs Broughton’s wedding day was full of love, laughter and unforgettable moments.
The Wedding Morning
The long awaited day began with a calm but excited atmosphere as the bride and her bridal party got ready at the hotel. One of the wonderful things about weddings at Carnoustie Golf Hotel is that everything can take place in one location, allowing couples and their guests to relax and fully enjoy the day.
The bridal suite provided the perfect space for those special getting-ready moments... champagne, laughter and the final touches before walking down the aisle.
The Ceremony
Surrounded by their closest friends and family, Mr & Mrs Broughton said their vows in a beautiful ceremony on the third floor with the best views.
The ceremony was filled with smiles, happy tears and their heartfelt story perfectly told by Humanist Celebrant Brenda Reid.
As they were announced as Mr & Mrs Broughton, the room felt lighter, everyone was genuinly just thrilled these two finally made it.
Drinks Reception & Portraits
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks while the newlyweds stepped outside for some portraits.
The setting around Carnoustie Golf Hotel provides an incredible backdrop for wedding photography, there are so many options. The Golf course as a backdrop, the walls of the Rookery are another fav of mine & when couples are feeling brave we even head down onto the beach. 20 minutes to walk around, capture some images & soak it all in.
Even in November, the autumn light was beautiful and soft, giving the photos a warm, romantic feel. You would never know it was around 4 degrees looking at the images, our bride handled it veeeery well.
speeches
Guests were then invited into the reception room for the wedding breakfast, where the room had been beautifully styled. Laughter filled the room throughout the speeches, & they were a highlight of the day. From emotional words from the Groom to the groom’s son telling the funniest stories that had the entire room in stitches, i'll not spill any secrets. What was said in that room stays in that room I think haha!!
Evening Celebrations
As the evening guests arrived, the celebrations continued with music, dancing and plenty of energy on the dance floor. First dance & then a packed Dance floor, I stayed for my usual 3 songs & then I left the partying to everyone else while I headed home to back up the images ready for sending over previews within 24 hours.
A Perfect Day at Carnoustie
Mr & Mrs Broughton’s wedding was a wonderful celebration filled with love, family and unforgettable memories.
With its stunning coastal setting, elegant spaces and incredible views over one of Scotland’s most famous golf courses, Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa provides an incredible backdrop for weddings of all sizes.
It was truly an honour to capture such a beautiful day.
Congratulations again to Mr & Mrs Broughton and thank you for allowing me to be part of your story.
